Carroll/Canal Winchester news: CWICC is meeting Jan. 31

The Canal Winchester Industry and Commerce Corporation (CWICC) is a public-private partnership that has been designated by the city as agent for the city’s industrial, commercial, distribution and research development.

They have created an Economic Development Plan for the city’s industrial, commercial, distribution and research development in order to create jobs and employment opportunities and improve the economic welfare of the community.

The next meeting is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31. The meeting will take place at the Council Chambers, 45 E. Waterloo Street. For more information contact, Executive Vice President Lucas Haire at 614-837-1894.

SJ XXIII Catholic Parish

Saint John XXIII Catholic Parish, 5170 Winchester Southern Road, has several events coming up including:

  • Baptismal Preparation: If you need to schedule your child’s Baptism, call the Parish Office at 614-920-1563 or email the Parish Office at office@sjxxiiiparish.org for details. Baptisms can be scheduled following the 11:15 a.m. Mass for the second, third & fourth Sundays of the month.

  • Eucharistic Adoration is offered every Wednesday at 6 p.m. at 5170 for one hour at St. John XXIII. Father Brian O’Connor is available for Confessions during this hour. All are welcome to attend.

  • The weekly Women’s Ministry group will continue to meet on Thursdays at St. John XXIII at 11 a.m. in the lower level of St. John XXIII Parish. Contact Karen Self at karenself@aol.com or 614-209-6299 if you would like more information. You may also come to a meeting any Thursday at 11 a.m. to find out if this is a study for you.

  • The Platinum Club will host a “Trivial Pursuit” afternoon together in the Social Hall. The event will be held on Sunday, Jan. 28, at 3 p.m. Participants are asked to bring a snack to share. Drinks will be provided.

Bloom Township

Bloom Township Board of Trustees has set its 2024 meeting dates. Meetings will be held the second Monday and fourth Wednesday of each month at the Administrative Office building, 8490 Lithopolis Road NW, in Greencastle. Trustee Carol Moore will serve as chairwoman this year. Special meetings will be announced at www.bloomtwp.org.

Greenfield Township

Greenfield Township Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24. The meeting will take place at Greenfield Township Firehouse at 3245 Havensport Road, Carroll. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss a comprehensive land use plan for Greenfield Township.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Registration is underway for Parent Teacher Conferences in the Bloom-Carroll Local School District. Conferences will be held on Thursday, Jan. 25 and Thursday, Feb. 1. You can secure your conference date and time by visiting https://www.myconferencetime.com/bloomcarroll/ .
