Weather presenter Carol Kirkwood accidentally twinned with her colleague Janine Jansen, as the pair wore almost identical dresses at work.

Accidental matching outfits can be a bit awkward, but they aren't usually caught on TV. However, in Kirkwood's case, the strange coincidence was noticed when her colleague Jansen saw her presenting on BBC Breakfast.

Taking to X/Twitter, BBC Spotlight presenter Jansen highlighted the hilarious blunder, which saw the pair twinning for "Leopard Print Friday".

"Snap! Who told Carol Kirkwood @BBCBreakfast to tally up for Leopard Print Friday! I'll be bringing you the early updates @BBCSpotlight until 8am!" she wrote, alongside a photo of herself backstage, watching Kirkwood's weather report.

In the photo, Jansen is wearing a leopard print, short-sleeved midaxi dress, almost identical to the dress Kirkwood is seen modelling during her bulletin. Jansen grins as she gestures towards Kirkwood's matching outfit.

As well as fashion sense, the pair also share similar blonde hairstyles, making the coincidence even more amusing to fans.

"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery- Keep setting the trend for the South West !" one replied under the post. "Double trouble" wrote another, while a third joked: "Puurrrfect"

Kirkwood recently appeared on The One Show to talk about her latest novel Once Upon a Time in Venice. Presenter Alex Jones jokingly asked if her research for her novels was an excuse for a holiday.

"I've been to all the places that I've written about and the reason for that is, visual imagery is so important to me. I want to take you with me," Kirkwood explained.

"You might not have been to Venice or the south of France, so I'm going to describe it so you can feel you're there, and you can experience what my characters are also experiencing in these places."
