Carl's Jr. Is Giving Away Free Bacon Cheeseburgers

And by free, we mean no-purchase-necessary free.

It’s tough to keep up with all the fast food restaurant special deals, especially when both the Super Bowl and Valentine’s Day are close. DoorDash kicked things off with free McNuggets from McDonald’s with a $20 purchase, and free wings from Popeyes with a $15 purchase.

So often, there’s a catch with free food offers—you have to spend some money on something else to get the freebie. If you’re planning on ordering fast food anyway, it can make sense to add that extra item to your order, but sometimes, it’s a treat when free means you don’t have to spend any money at all.

Carl’s Jr. is celebrating its Free Burger Day on Feb. 12, by giving customers a no-purchase-necessary free Western Bacon Cheeseburger—the popular burger with an all-beef patty, two strips of bacon, American cheese, onion rings, and BBQ sauce on a seeded bun. There’s no purchase necessary, but there is one thing you have to do before you can claim your $0 burger.

How to Get a Free Bacon Cheeseburger From Carl’s Jr.

Only Carl’s Jr. My Rewards members can claim the free Western Bacon Cheeseburger. Those who aren’t members can join the rewards club by downloading the Carl’s Jr. app before Feb. 12 and they will receive the free burger offer in the app.

To take advantage of the offer, My Rewards members can order through the app or show the app at their local restaurant while ordering in person.

“This is amazing. Give me all the free burgies!” one of Carl’s Jr.’s followers said on Instagram. Amazing for the customers, but one person, indicating they worked at the fast food chain, had a different take on it, “I saw this in our POS screens and felt dread.”

We get that. Participating locations are bound to be slammed that day. Our advice? Be patient. Be kind. And thank those who hand you your free burger.
