When Adam Schefter sent out his “insensitive” tweet breaking the news of Dwayne Haskins tragic death, former Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones was one of the first to react.

On Tuesday, Jones attended a vigil for the late Buckeye star. And when it was his turn to speak he called out the sports media for some of their “bogus” comments about Haskins’ character and career shortly after his passing.

When Jones’ comments surfaced on social media, it got some reaction from fans.

“The Foundation Founder, Cardale Jones, speaking to the crowd at Dwanye Haskins’ memorial tonight. Rest in Peace, Dwayne.”

“‘It just sucks that his life was cut so short. I guess he was just too good for all of us that the lord had to call upon him early,’ – Cardale Jones on Dwayne Haskins.”

“Great message,” a Big Ten fan replied. “Football bonds young men together in ways that are difficult to explain.”

“I said what I said!” Cardale Jones followed-up. “RIP Dwayne.”

“I stand with you boss,” another user commented. “Beautiful words being said here keep making Buckeye Nation proud.”

Dwayne Haskins was killed at just 24-years-old. But his legacy will live on in Columbus, Ohio for many more to come.
