Capital city is now 'Halloween Headquarters' as Mars Wrigley celebrates 10 years in Topeka

Mars Wrigley is celebrating Halfway to Halloween by officially naming its Topeka site as its “Halloween Headquarters.”

Hundreds of Topeka families, business owners, community leaders and more gathered Thursday evening at the downtown Evergy Plaza, 630 S. Kansas Ave., to celebrate the announcement of the newly named Halloween Headquarters.

Mars Wrigley is celebrating a decade of business in Topeka.

Brian Pardo, site director at Mars Wrigley, said Mars is part of the Topeka community so celebrating the milestone with residents was important.

"All the product that we're giving away here tonight was made here in Topeka and we're now Halloween headquarters, because we make all the fun size and minis that go into all of the variety bags for Halloween," Pardo told The Capital-Journal.

“Mars Wrigley has been an incredible contributor to the Topeka community and economy for 10 years and we are thrilled to be home to the Mars Wrigley Halloween Headquarters,” said Molly Howey, president of economic development for Go Topeka. “We’re excited to see what we can accomplish together to further celebrate our Topeka community.”

Mars Wrigley opened in 2014

Mars Wrigley has been Topeka Proud for a decade since opening its production facility in Topeka in 2014.

The site now sits at more than 550,000 square-feet and employs about 600 associates, a news release said.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate with Mars Wrigley and welcome them to our weekly Envista Eats and Beats event at Evergy Plaza in downtown Topeka,” said Val Williams, AVP of marketing for Envista Federal Credit Union. “We love engaging the communities we serve, and this is a great opportunity to see Topekans of all ages come together to enjoy music, costumes and candy this month.”
