Candidates file for local Wake County elections: Cary, Fuquay-Varina, Wake Forest

Filing for local elections within Wake County are officially underway.

Filing began noon July 7 and runs through noon July 21 for most of Wake County’s towns and cities.

Important election dates: Most of Wake County’s municipal elections are set for Nov. 7, 2023, but the town of Cary’s election is Oct. 10.

The city of Raleigh used to hold its city council elections in odd years, but they are now held in even-numbered years.

Here’s a look at who is running.
