Canada lawmaker appears buck naked in House of Commons video session

He exposed himself to scrutiny.

A Canadian legislator accidentally appeared fully nude in front of his colleagues during a Wednesday video conference.

William Amos, who represents the Pontiac district in Quebec, had just gone for a jog and forgot his camera was on, he said in a tweet.

That camera showed Amos stripping naked while standing between flags of Canada and Quebec. In a screenshot obtained by CTV News, Amos’ cellphone blocked his penis.

Amos, 46, was visible only to his fellow legislators during a public question period, according to CTV News. He did not appear on the public feed because he was not speaking at the time.

“I sincerely apologize to all my colleagues in the House,” Amos said. “It was an honest mistake [and] it won’t happen again.”

Fellow house member Claude DeBellefeuille addressed the incident after the questions finished, CTV News reported.

“It may be necessary to remind the members, especially the male ones, that a tie and jacket are obligatory, but so are a shirt, boxer shorts or pants,” she said in French. “We have seen that the member is in great physical shape, but I think members should be reminded to be careful and control the camera well.”
