Princess Catherine is beyond appreciative of the support she has received from fans amid her cancer diagnosis, Queen Camilla recently noted.

While walking through Shrewsbury Farmers’ Market in Shrewsbury, England, for a tour of the monthly mart yesterday, the queen consort was showered with gifts for the Princess of Wales, including hand-written posters from two different young girls that read, Send our love to Kate, with hearts and stars, and sweet drawings surrounding the note.

While accepting the gifts and promising to deliver them to Kate, Camilla said, “I know that Catherine is thrilled by all the kind wishes and support,” per royal expert Rebecca English, who shared commentary on the moment via X (formerly Twitter).

Princess Kate shared her cancer diagnosis on Friday, March 22, in a personal video message that was posted on Kensington Palace’s social media accounts. There, the princess explained that when she went in for an abdominal surgery (for an undisclosed issue) in January, doctors did not believe her condition was cancerous, however, follow-up tests confirmed there had been cancer present. Now, she is being treated with preventative chemotherapy.

After Kate’s announcement, a palace source told Harper’s Bazaar: “The Princess will return to official duties when she is cleared to do so by her medical team.” They added that the royal “is in good spirits and is focused on making a full recovery.”

Kate is currently refraining from attending public engagements as she heals. As for husband Prince William, the source said he “will continue to balance supporting his wife and family and maintaining his official duties as he has done since the start of the year.”
