Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes Are Reportedly Back Together After Coachella Reunion
Coachella weekend one has officially come to a close, and along with major fashion moments and iconic headlining performances from BLACKPINK and Bad Bunny came tons of A-list attendees. Part of the star-studded guest list was Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, who publicly reunited since their split in November 2021. The pair dated from 2019 to 2021, and claimed that they were "still the best of friends" in their breakup announcement on Instagram.
During Coachella, though, multiple concertgoers and reports revealed that the duo had cozied up with each other and shared a smooch. A paparazzi video of Camila and Shawn at the festival also surfaced online, where it was seemingly confirmed that Shamila is back on. In the clip, Shawn trails behind Camila as she walks away from him and someone behind the camera asks "Camila, are you guys back together?" She mumbles "Yes" before saying it louder a second time.
Per Entertainment Tonight, Shawn and Camila had shown up to the festival separately with their respected friend groups and made plans to hang out. An anonymous source told the outlet that Shawn and Camila "had been in touch the last few weeks and have cleared the air about their breakup."
"There is still a connection between them and both of them shared they still care about one another. It's very casual at this point," the source shared, adding, "Shawn and Camila let loose during night one of Coachella and were just having fun. There is still undeniable chemistry between the two and everyone around them can feel it."
But, does that mean the days of long-winded walks with coffee mugs are back in tow? Not quite, according to a report by Page Six. Another source says that despite their PDA at Coachella, the "Señorita" singers are "not back together" and that " one thing led to another as the night progressed."
"Shawn and Camila remain friends with a lot of love and history between them, but they aren't dating again," the insider shared.
On April 19 — just a few days after the Shamila reunion at Coachella — Camila teased a snippet of a new track labeled "June Gloom" on Instagram. Over dreamy synths, Camila sings "How come you're just so much better / Is this going to end ever? / I guess I'll f*** around and find out."
"Are you coming to Coachella? / If you don't it's whatever / If you do honey, It'll be all I think about," she continues, seemingly referencing her recent reunion at the music festival. She also captioned her post with the date "4.12," which could allude to the day she laid down the track in the studio.
Fans seemed to connect the dots and took to the comments section, writing "WHAT DOES THIS MEAN LIKE WHY THAT DATE," and "It's the Coachella lyric for me."
The duo was also spotted on April 19, walking hand-in-hand along a strip of restaurants in Santa Monica. TMZ reports that the couple is officially back on, but neither Shawn nor Camila has confirmed their relationship rekindling since reports started surfacing.
