Camden-Frontier’s music department to hold mattress sale fundraiser

FRONTIER — The Camden-Frontier Music Department will be hosting a one-day mattress fundraiser on Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. to raise money for a field trip.

For that one day, the Camden-Frontier High School’s multi-purpose room will be transformed into a mattress showroom.

“This is our second time doing the fundraiser,” said Kristen Watters, band director at Camden-Frontier. “When we did it 5 years ago, our music department was able to make about $3,000 in one day!”

Watters said she hopes for similar success this year.

A wide variety of mattresses, pillows, bed frames, adjustable power bases, and mattress covers will all be available. For every mattress purchase over $399, the buyer will also receive a free set of sheets.

“A variety of beds that will be on display,” Watters said. “Similarly to a typical mattress store.”

The community is welcome to come out and try the different mattresses and delivery is also available.

“There will be 25 different mattress styles on display in all sizes and styles for customers to try, priced below retail,” said a statement from Custom Fundraising Solutions, who is helping with the fundraiser. “Brands like Simmons Beautyrest, come with full factory warranties, are made to order, and will be available 2-3 weeks after the fundraiser.”

Watters said it is a perfect opportunity to update your bedroom.

“My husband and I purchased our bed from the fundraiser and love it,” she said. “It was delivered to our house and set up for us - we didn’t lift a finger.”

Students will also be involved in the fundraiser.

“They get to dress up in mattress costumes and dance by the road and some of them are excited about that,” Watters said.

The money raised will help support the students of the Camden-Frontier Music Department.

“We’ve begun talking about doing an overnight trip for the CF music department,” Watters said. “We will use this money for a field trip, even if it’s not overnight.”
