Calling All Peeps with Small Boobs: Here's My Honest Pepper Bra Review

Hot take: I’m sort of… a fan of bras. Eek! I know, I know. A very hot take. I love putting on a matching set in the morning a la the opening scene of The Devil Wears Prada. But as the president of the Itty Bitty Titty Committee, I'm also way too familiar with the work it takes to find a bra that fits properly.

The thing is, I don’t necessarily have to wear a bra (although I do like the nip coverage, shaping, and extra support while running for the train) so you know that I only settle for the absolute best—I pretty much have a zero-tolerance policy for bad bras at this point. So when Pepper (a bra brand specifically designed for people who wear AA, A, and B cup sizes) started to gain traction online, best believe I was curious to see if they passed the IBTC test.

I tested a bunch of Pepper's most iconic styles, and spoiler alert: they're totally worth the hype. Keep reading for my full review on which Pepper bras are truly worth your money!

Are Pepper bras worth it?

Yes! Pepper bras are pretty darn good. What makes the brand so special, you ask? Well, for starters, they recognize that there are people of all sizes who need bras in smaller cup sizes. Popular retailers usually offer larger band sizes starting at a C cup (yikes) whereas you can snag a 40A or 42AA bra at Pepper with just a few clicks.

They also offer a convenient size quiz and fit guide for people with itty bitty titties who have never really found their ~perfect bra~ and could use some expert fit advice. Pepper underwire and strapless bras are only available in cup sizes AA, A, and B, but the brand offers band sizes 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, and 42. For wire-free bras and bralettes, sizes range from XXS-XL. Oh, and if you're still not sure, Pepper has an easy and free returns and exchanges policy.

How do Pepper bras wear?

I'm happy to report that all seven Pepper bras I tested wore like a dream. The real game-changer? They laid flat against my boobs and didn’t gape at the top of the cup—unlike the majority of bras on the market for us small-chested folks. Plus, Pepper bras are made from OEKO-TEX® certified materials (basically, the fabrics are tested for a bunch of toxic chemicals) so you know they’re safe and comfy for daily wear.

Best Push-Up Bra

I’ll say it—this bra is the tits. It’s so good. Pepper’s Lift-Up bra is my favorite child, my ride or die, etc. I’ll be purchasing this bra in multiple colors, thank you! To my shock, this bra pretty much managed to create cleavage out of thin air—you’ll get lots of lift and shape thanks to the soft padded cups with no gaping at all. And can we acknowledge the fact that this push-up bra has 3,382 total reviews with a very impressive average rating of 4.7 out of 5?!

Also, if you’re used to sizing down with other bra brands to get that “closer” fit, there’s no need to do that here—get your regular size, because it’ll actually fit properly. Groundbreaking!

Best Everyday Bra

I’ll admit that I was hesitant about this bra when I pulled it out of the packaging—it looks a lot like a bralette, and bralettes don’t always do enough for me to justify wearing one at all. The last thing I want as someone in her twenties is for my undergarments to give off training bra vibes, y’know? But honestly, I was surprised by how much I liked this bra—and nary a training bra vibe in sight!

It’s flattering and comfy enough that I could wear it all day under my work clothes and basically forget that I’m wearing a bra—you could even hit up a yoga class in this bad boy. The light padding is great for everyday wear, and it has a good amount of stretch to it so you won’t feel restricted if you end up napping on the couch in it. Basically, this is the bra that just might convince bra skeptics/haters that they’re not so bad after all!

THE REVIEWS: “Finally a bra for curvy, small-chested women! I have been searching for a bra without under-wire, that doesn’t roll up when you sit down, doesn’t dig into my sides, and doesn't gap,” a reviewer noted. “Being a curvy girl with literally an AA cup, it's so hard to find a bra that checks all the boxes! I obviously don’t need support, but I want to have a ‘shape’ when wearing shirts! This bra is literally the best bra I’ve ever purchased!”

Best T-Shirt Bra

This comfortable bra provides lift and support, much like the Pepper Limitless Bra, and the two styles look preeeeeetty much identical when worn. So, what makes them different? For one, the FeelGood Wirefree T-Shirt Bra doesn't have darts or seams that can sometimes show through T-shirts (hence the name). It has foam cups, rather than removable padding, and it also feels slightly firmer than the Limitless Bra.

Here's how to choose if you can't decide between the two: Get the FeelGood Wirefree T-Shirt Bra if you want something that'll be smooth, seamless, and practically invisible under any top you own (no gaps, remember?). Get the Limitless Bra if you want one that'll look cute on its own with a pair of leggings for your next workout class.

THE REVIEWS: “Where has this bra been all my life??? Seriously the perfect T-shirt bra,” one reviewer raved. “Fits my small chest amazingly and still provides lift without wire. Also love how many color options there are. I was able to get the perfect nude for under any shirt. And I love the low neckline and the thin crossable straps. This bra is so versatile. Best Strapless Bra

Okay, I’m so excited to have this strapless bra in my arsenal! I’ve avoided all things strapless ever since my freshman year roommate told me that people on the IBTC couldn’t wear strapless swimsuits (like, what?) but this bra proves otherwise. Former Cosmo editor Hanna Flanagan said she tried her usual band size but it didn’t feel as snug as she’d like it to be, so I ordered a size 30 band instead of a size 32 for extra grip. The bustier style was plenty tight and felt super secure (lemme tell you that baby is going nowhere) thanks to the silicone grip lining on the inside of the bra and the three sets of triple hooks.

Now, since I did size down, I had a bit of spillage (you can imagine how shocking this was to me as a 32A), but for the first time, I was able to comfortably wear a strapless bra during a very dance-y night out without having to constantly tug it up. This one’s also convertible with extra straps, so you’ll definitely be getting your money’s worth.

THE REVIEWS: “Best strapless/multi-way bra ever! I have to admit I was skeptical when I got this bra,” a reviewer wrote. “I opened the box and thought, there is no way that this is going to make me look good let alone stay up. Or it'll stay up, but gap awkwardly. I have to say, I wore this for the first time as a strapless and when I put it on I thought, 'Wow this actually looks really good and forms to my body, no gaps!' I then wore it out for an entire day, and I actually forgot I had a strapless bra on! It was so comfortable and did not move at all!”

Best Lace Bra

One thing about me is that I’ll never say no to lace—so I was pleasantly surprised to see that Pepper offers more ~decorative~ bra options along with their staple styles. Their Signature All You bra is lined with delicate, scalloped lace that wasn’t visibly bumpy under tops. It felt more like a soft crochet rather than a scratchy embellishment (win!) and the cups laid gorgeously close to the skin because the top of each cup is just transparent lace rather than a thick cup. Now, did it make me feel super va-va-voom? No. But it’s definitely an elevated version of an everyday bra and, may I add, looks very French Girl Chic under a white button-up!

THE REVIEWS: “I love this bra! It fits so well and is actually decently comfortable! And wow, does it make me have some nice cleavage (which I have not had with other bras unless they’ve been super padded push ups),” one reviewer wrote. “I’m so happy with this and will be buying in other colors. I love the lace and how it extends a bit past the rest of the bra so you see some skin underneath. hot!”

Best Wireless Bra

This bra offered a good amount of push-up—Zero-G, indeed! I chose to size down because some reviewers mentioned that the cups are a little thicker/bigger, and it ended up fitting surprisingly well.

I’ll say that this bra isn’t my personal fave because it’s a little bit bulky. Despite the great fit, the thicker cups still showed through thin shirts. But I’m super impressed that there’s no wire! So if you hate underwire with a passion and still want a good push-up option, this baby does that sans wires. It has a thicker seam that runs under the chest instead, which is obviously way more comfortable, and honestly you can never have too many basic, neutral bras.

THE REVIEWS: “Finally - a bra that not only fits my 32AA chest but is flattering in its design and adds just enough lift! I was a bit hesitant at first given the price of this bra. But, since I have loved my other Pepper wire-free bras, I decided to give it a chance,” wrote one reviewer. “I have never felt particularly confident about my small chest. But let me tell you, when I tried on the Zero-G wirefree lift up bra, I actually smiled looking at myself in the mirror!! Before I discovered Pepper, I wore push-up bras because they were the only non-sports bra that (almost) fit me, but there were still cup gaps and I always felt inauthentic wearing them. Not with the wirefree lift up bra! Worth every penny in my opinion.”

Best Racerback Bra

Of the five Pepper bras I tried, the Ultimate Contour T-Shirt Bra is probably my least favorite of the bunch and the only one I wouldn't repurchase. It measures up to the rest of ‘em in terms of comfort and quality, but I have a few (minor) complaints.

The cups are pretty low-cut and my nips threatened to make an appearance which, IMO, cancels out the point of wearing a bra. And, unlike the other styles on this list that I tested in the exact same size, the band felt loose which led to less support overall. It’s just not the right shape or fit to be my golden unicorn bra! But I love that it easily converts into a racerback, which is going to be very useful once summer rolls around.

THE REVIEWS: “They say good things come to those who wait (about 20 years in this case 😂) but not only have I found a bra that fits, I have found THE bra and it really is worth every penny,” wrote a reviewer. “Fits like a glove and not a gap in sight. Starting to find a new found confidence embracing my small chest with a bra that actually fits. AA bras are nearly impossible to find here in the UK, especially ones true to size, and even though I have no idea how I came across Pepper, I'm so glad I did!”
