California-based Gen Korean BBQ House is coming to Arlington with all-you-can-eat meat

A California-based Korean BBQ restaurant, known for its energetic, modern neon dining rooms and all-you-can-eat meats grilled at the table, is coming to the heart of the Metroplex.

Gen Korean BBQ House will open as early as this fall in the Arlington Highlands shopping center, on the north side of Interstate 20 at Matlock Road. The 5,200-square-foot corner unit at 203 Merchants Row will fill part of the space formerly occupied by Staples, in the same building as PetSmart. Construction begins in June.

Gen Korean BBQ House already has one location each in Frisco and Carrollton, and two in Houston. Most locations are in California, Las Vegas and Arizona. New locations have opened in New York City and Hawaii.

The restaurant describes itself as having “boundless menu options consisting of freshly prepared meats, seafood, and vegetables,” as well as traditional Korean ban-chan side dishes.
