Caitlyn Jenner Says She Convinced Robert Kardashian to Divorce Kris Jenner

Caitlyn Jenner claims to be the linchpin when it comes to ex-wife Kris Jenner's divorce from Robert Kardashian.

The reality star's ex-spouse, whom she shares two daughters, Kendall and Kylie, with, opened up about that period in their lives during the first episode of Peacock's new documentary House of Kardashian, where she recalled Kris "having a rough time with Robert" when Caitlyn "came into the picture" during their 1991 divorce proceedings.

"He was doing everything to kind of make her life miserable," she recounted. "I saw what was going on from the outside and just said, 'This is ridiculous.'" So Caitlyn took matters into her own hands, inviting Robert out to dinner so she could stand up for her future wife.

"We met on Hamburger Hamlet on Sunset Boulevard, just the two of us in a booth in the back," the former Olympian continued, where she bluntly broke it all down for him: "I basically said to him Kris is moving on. Sorry, but she's moving on. I said, 'I can take over from here. So, let's just make this final signing of the papers as simple as possible.' And he did."

Caitlyn and Kris had been dating for about four months by the time the divorce was finalized and were quickly married just a month later. "I wanted to get the wedding over with so we could move on with a normal life, even if it's four kids and four step-kids. As normal a life as we can make it," she recalled.

Kris infamously cheated on Robert in 1989, leading to the messy separation, but when all was said and done, the two became very close friends, with the KarJenner matriarch recently recalling that they "talked on the phone all day long [and] helped each other through things all the time."
