After hosting two sold-out wine dinners this past season with a lighthearted approach that resonated with guests, Café L’Europe plans to roll out a series of such events starting later this month.

An April 23 wine dinner featuring pours from Napa Valley’s Hundred Acre Winery will kick off monthly events that the restaurant envisions through the fall.

It’s all part of Café L’Europe’s Eat, Drink, Play series of periodic special events celebrating food, wine and fun, including trivia quizzes that spiced up the two wine dinners this past season.

“Each (upcoming) wine dinner will have a theme,” co-owner Emanuela Marcello told the Daily News in an email. “We're working on collaborations with local influencers, designers, magazines and sommeliers (because) co-hosting a wine dinner adds another layer of interest. And, of course, I'll continue to throw in my fun trivia games, too.”

Since Café L’Europe’s previous wine dinners sold out quickly, making required advance reservations soon for the April 23 Hundred Acre dinner is worth considering if you’re interested in attending.

Numerous Hundred Acre wines have received top scores from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.

A 6:30 p.m. reception will begin the event, which will feature wine insights from Café L’Europe sommelier Sergio Cuadros as well as special guest David Cohn, a regional manager for Hundred Acre Winery.

Limited seating will be arranged around large communal tables so guests can meet and interact with one another. Marcello will emcee a trivia quiz with questions related to the dinner’s wines and menu.

The Hundred Acre wine dinner on April 23 is $465 a person.

Tentative dates for upcoming wine dinners include May 22, June 19 and July 31. Marcello said summer wine dinners will be “more affordable and accessible.”
