Strictly Come Dancing fans will get plenty of chance to boo the always-grumpy Craig Revel Horwood in his 2023 panto performances.

Fresh off his show-opening dance at the Strictly launch show, Craig has already lined up a return to the stage at the New Wimbledon Theatre for the upcoming pantomime season.

The dance judge is set to reprise his role as the Wicked Stepmother in Cinderella — where he sings and dances in full drag as the fairytale baddie. Craig previously played the same role during the 2018 panto season.

Craig's co-stars will include Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Alison Jiear as the Fairy Godmother and theatre veteran Daniel Norford as Prince Charming's wingman Dandini.

Other cast members include Call the Midwife's Cassie Compton as Cinders, Grease – The Musical's Solomon Davy as Prince Charming and Good Omens star Pete Firman as Cinderella's confidant Buttons.

Here's how the theatre describes this comic musical: "Join Cinders as she goes from rags to riches, outwits her very wicked sisters and meets her Prince Charming.

"The clock is ticking, so book your tickets today!"

Craig isn't the only Strictly star lining up a panto role for the festive season, as his fellow judge Anton Du Beke will star in Peter Pan at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking. Former contestants Brian Conley and James Bye will both be on stage for the panto season too.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday nights on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights from September 25 on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
