New Business: Lost Cowboy Brewing ready to saddle up; Mexican restaurant features original art

Apr. 5—A LARGE WALL inside the soon-to-open Lost Cowboy Brewing Co. in Nashua has taken on a life of its own with the help of a local nonprofit.

A mural featuring a cowboy riding a bucking horse and waving an American flag is the work of Manny Ramirez of Positive Street Art.

Lost Cowboy, part of Michael Timothy's Dining Group, is set to open at 546 Amherst St. in "late spring/early summer," according to its website. The group also operates Buckley's Great Steaks, Mike's Italian Kitchen, Surf Seafood and Buckley's Bakery & Cafe.

"The construction progress is full steam ahead for our 17,000 sq. ft. space, soon to be a 350 seat restaurant and brewery," the website said.

The space was previously used by Southern New Hampshire University.

Mexican flare

The former Bertucci's Kitchen also on Amherst Street in Nashua is now home to a new Mexican restaurant, Tequila Jalisco. The place is just down the street from the future brewery.

The old brick-oven pizza place decor is gone with the walls including work from another local artist, Danielle Osadchy.

The Mexican restaurant opened last month and celebrated with a mariachi band on the opening day.

The artwork features an agave farm and barrels of tequila.

Burritos in Bedford

Bubbakoo's Burritos, which has locations up and down the East Coast, is slated to open its newest spot in Bedford this week at Bedford Grove (3 Colby Court), which is also home to Boston Interiors and Panera Bread.

The chain describes itself as a "go-to Mexican-fusion fast-casual restaurant." The first location opened on the Jersey Shore in 2008 and has since grown to more than 100 locations in 15 states, according to its website.

The menu features create-your-own burritos and bowls and other Mexican favorites like tacos, tostada salad and quesadillas.

A grand opening is set for Tuesday.

"Get ready to experience the ultimate flavor explosion and vibes that'll have you dancing in your seat!" a post on Facebook says.

Shake up

The Juicery, a smoothie and organic juice bar, will take over the old Fly By Cafe space in Exeter.

Owner Alex Vandermark purchased the retail condo at 163 Water St. for $440,000. The purchase included the real estate and furniture, fixtures, and equipment (or FF&E in the real estate world).

The company started in 2008 out of a small 100-square-foot space in Portsmouth and now has locations in Massachusetts and Maine.

The Juicery's 13th location is expected to open sometime in May, according to a news release.

'The Hill' to reopen

New Hampshire got a burst of fresh snow this past week, but McIntyre Ski Area had already called it a season.

"Manchester's Winter Playground" is now preparing to reopen The Hill Bar & Grille. The restaurant known for its large patio and view of the slopes opened in 2020.

"We are gearing up to welcome you back to The Hill Bar & Grille in less than a week!" a post on Facebook says. The place is set to reopen Tuesday, but we'll see if the weather cooperates.
