Burlington County town earns fourth consecutive Healthy Town designation.

EVESHAM - The township has been named a Healthy Town once again, the fourth year in a row for the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute honor.

Evesham Township Mayor Jaclyn Veasy called it “a tremendous accomplishment, and it’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Evesham Township community and township staff.”

The designation is part of the institutues’ Mayor Wellness Campaign and is given to municipalities that show a commitment to improving the overall health of their communities.

Evesham is just one of 17 towns across the state to hear the honor this year.

Municipalities vying for the designation have to apply with details on the research into the needs of the community and work already done to improve lives.

Becoming a "Healthy Town" takes work, but with the help of the Mayor's Wellness Campaign, a statewide healthy community initiative, gives townships and mayors the tools to help promote a healthy lifestyle for their community.

The initiative prioritizes education, creativity through art, accessible nutrition guidelines and promoting a family like environment for the entire community.

"As we embark on another year of promoting the health and wellness of our community, we hope all residents remember the importance of taking care of yourselves and those around you" said Veasy.

Evesham will also hold its annual Wellness Festival on Saturday, May 18th, starting at 11 a.m. and going until 2 p.m.
