Burger King Sweetens Up a Staple Menu Item With New Limited-Edition Topping

Burger King Whopper hamburger, fries, and drink

Burger King is reportedly set to offer a sweet twist on a beloved menu item later this month.

According to a new photo that has made its way online, the Whopper is getting a delicious makeover in the form of the new Candied Bacon Whopper, featuring sweet bacon jam, lettuce, tomato, crispy onions, garlic aioli, candied bacon and a Whopper patty on a seeded Whopper bun.

Certain locations will also see a new Fiery Big Fish sandwich, which is basically just the normal fish sandwich with the scrumptious addition of a creamy spicy sauce.

An anonymous employee of the chain restaurant broke the news to food blogger Markie Devo, who claims the mouthwatering new option is dropping onto menus by Jan. 29.

Wait to try it until Jan. 30 and you can also score yourself a one-cent Croissan'wich—the eatery's very first big breakfast offering—in honor of National Croissant Day.

Sticking around the menu for over 40 years now, the Croissan'wich is available with a variety of proteins. From Ham, Egg and Cheese to Sausage, Egg, and Cheese; Bacon, Egg & Cheese; just Egg & Cheese; or the Fully Loaded Croissan’wich, which is piled high with all the go-to breakfast staples–ham, bacon, sausage, eggs, and cheese—it's easy to have it your way, as they say.

All you have to do to redeem the steal is to sign up for Burger King's free rewards program, Royal Perks, if you haven't already. In additional to this deal, you'll get first access to any other discount the chain offers.
