Burger King Set to Launch New Value Meal Similar to McDonald's Offer

Burger King launching its own 'Your Way' value meal ahead of McDonald's $5 meal deal.

Burger King is coming for the competition–specifically McDonald's–with a new value meal that it's launching.

According to a new report, BK is said to be coming out with its own $5 meal deal–eerily similar to a promotion the Home of the Golden Arches announced earlier this month.

That said, it appears Burger King's plans were in the works long before Mickey D's went public with its offer, as franchisees reportedly voted on the "Your Way Meal" promotion back in April.

“Regardless of their plans, we are moving full speed ahead with our own plans to launch our own $5 value meal before they do — and run it for several months,” Burger King said in a memo signed by the chain’s U.S. and Canada president Tom Curtis, which was obtained by Bloomberg.

Burger King's $5 meal box is said to include a choice of one of three sandwiches with nuggets, fries and a drink, per information outlined in the document.

The memo also suggested that the burger joint is testing two other promotions that could be ready later this year, which will feature high-ticket items, including its Melts and a lineup of spicy products, as well as its iconic Whopper.

Currently, Burger King's value menu includes a $2.99 chicken wrap and a $5 deal that gets customers two Whopper Jr. burgers.

The "Your Way Meal," which has yet to get an official release date, is eerily similar to the McDonald's $5 meal box that's set to be released towards the end of June.

McDonald's upcoming promotion will only be offered for about a month, as several outlets have reported, and includes small fries, a drink, and either a McChicken, McDouble, or four-piece chicken McNuggets.

The two fast food chains aren't the only ones vying for customer's attention, Wendy's also recently debuted a $3 breakfast option guaranteed to power you through the morning rush.
