Battling bunions? You're certainly not alone. According to the Journal of Foot and Ankle Research, over 23 percent of adults between the ages of 18 to 65 are living with hallux valgus, commonly known as HV or bunions. While there are surgeries and treatment options available, the less invasive (and obviously cheaper) alternative is to invest in a pair of shoes that doesn't irritate the area further.

Luckily for you and your buns (er, bunions) one shoe has received the backing of podiatrists and nearly 17,000 five-star Amazon reviewers. It's the Oofos Ooriginal Sandal and it's unbelievably comfy — your tired tootsies will love their time in these.

Plus, they're just $60 — a small price to pay for true comfort. And, if you have Amazon Prime, you’ll get free shipping, of course. Not yet a member? No problem. You can sign up for your free 30-day trial here. (And by the way, those without Prime still get free shipping on orders of $25 or more.)

Here's the lowdown: The Ooriginals unisex sandals are made with closed-cell foam to minimize odor — you can even chuck them in the washing machine! They're designed to reduce energy exertion, absorb impact and cradle and support your arch too. We'll let the doc discuss why they're so great with bunions.

"The prominence of the big toe joint for those with bunions isn’t in contact with the shoe, which can provide relief," shared New York-based podiatrist Dr. Polina Zaydenberg. "The shoes offer good propulsion, which also improves the function of the big toe joint."

Dr. Zaydenberg is Board-certified by the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry, Prevention and Treatment of Diabetic Foot Wounds and in Diabetic Footwear. She's also in good company: the sandals (like every Oofos shoe) carry the American Podiatric Medical Association Seal of Acceptance.

One shopper on their third pair wrote: "Have very flat feet, bunions, my foot has less foot height (no fat on top of foot) than most people. Also, I have foot pain. Obviously, I am not an easy person when it comes to shoes and sandals. I can walk a fair distance in these thongs. Do get good support and decreased pain. Oofos make my life better."

Another agreed: "I have bunions, flat feet and plantar fasciitis. I am a health professional and I walk all day with patients. I seem to have pain in my feet no matter what...these sandals do give me happy support when I get home. In the morning, this brings my feet happiness right from my bed."

These just might be the miracle worker your bunions need.

"These are like walking on clouds!" shared a happy reviewer. "I have bunions and these are super comfortable and conform to my feet. I wear them all the time, I'm so happy to have found them!"
