'Buffy's Michelle Trachtenberg Defends Selfie From Comments About ‘Sick’ Appearance

Michelle Trachtenberg has a straightforward message for those "hating" on her latest selfies: "Check yourself."
After the Ice Princess and Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress shared a selfie with Spy Kids star Alexa Vega as the two apparently bonded at a hair salon, she began receiving comments critical of her look–something she later addressed in a following upload.
"I’ve received several comments recently about my appearance. I have never had plastic surgery I am happy and healthy," she wrote in a Jan. 18 Instagram post which also showed off her new pink hair.
"Check yourself haters," Trachtenberg, 38, added.
Now, nearly a week after she first started accumulating comments like "Michelle u look sick. R u ok?" "Yellow eyes, are you good?" and "Nobody is talking about plastic surgery...they are talking about your liver shutting down," she's making sure she gets the last word in an attempt to put a stop to all the rumors.
"Fun fact. This is my face. Not malnutrition no problems. Why do you have you hate?" she wrote alongside yet another selfie flaunting the new hairdo. "Get a calendar."
Fans of the Gossip Girl alum came out to show support however they knew how. Some, including Kristin Chenoweth, left compliments like "You’re GORGEOUS," "Aging beautifully," and "You’re pretty girl ❤️," while others attempted to explain away what the actress understood to be "hate" as concern for her wellbeing—noting it's still not something the public should be inquiring about.
"It's because we are all millennials too Michelle. We've all seen some sh$# at this point and know when things are going sideways," one wrote. "No hate just concern homey."
"Ppl are not used to faces without fillers. You don’t have any. As we age the baby fat in our faces can slowly go away. Cheekbones and jawline will sharpen," a second suggested before going on to add that even if the actress were to be battling a health issue, it's none of fans' business. "People need to remember Chadwick Boseman and how cruel the internet was to someone who was quietly going through the most tragic time of their life. We need to be kind or be quiet. Everyone is entitled to have an opinion but not to share it with everyone unsolicited."
"Fun fact: people need to mind their own business," another declared. "You’re beautiful, queen M. And we love you! 🇧🇷♥️."
