Injuries have become a common theme for Chris Godwin this season. Unfortunately, the Pro Bowl wideout will have to miss time yet again.

Godwin suffered a concussion back in Week 1 of the season, forcing him to the following game. He then suffered a hamstring injury a few weeks later that kept him out of action for multiple games. The Penn State product returned two weeks ago for the Buccaneers and looked solid, but once again he’ll miss time due to injury.

According to Buccaneers insider Rick Stroud, Godwin will miss next Monday’s showdown with the Giants due to a fractured left index finger. That injury occurred when he caught a touchdown pass against the Raiders.

It’s unclear right now if Godwin will be able to suit up for Tampa Bay’s divisional matchup in Week 9 with New Orleans.

Even if Godwin cannot suit up for Week 9, the Buccaneers should have Antonio Brown ready to play by then. His suspension will be lifted after the team’s game against the Giants.

Bruce Arians mentioned Tampa Bay’s injuries at wide receiver as one of the reasons why the team signed Brown in the first place.

While the Buccaneers would obviously love to have Godwin on the field, the offense should continue to roll without him.

Besides, Tom Brady still has Mike Evans, Rob Gronkowski, Scotty Miller and Tyler Johnson at his disposal.
