Bruce Springsteen Gives Health Update After Postponing Tour

Bruce Springsteen is grateful to his fans for their understanding after he had to cancel a number of upcoming concert dates.

The "Dancing in the Dark" singer, 74, recently postponed the remainder of his 2023 tour stops due to an ongoing battle with a painful stomach illness, peptic ulcer disease.

Calling the condition "a monster" to deal with, Springsteen insisted in a new episode of his SiriusXM E Street Radio show, From My Home to Yours, that he is very much still dealing with the painful symptoms of the illness.

“I am deeply sorry but this belly thing, despite my ability to laugh at it, has been a monster and is still unfortunately rocking my internal world," he stated, after introducing himself as “your favorite rock star with a bitch of a bellyache!" at the start of the Monday, Oct. 9 episode.

But he still made sure to show some appreciation to his fans for sticking by him, despite the disappointing news about his postponed concert dates.

“Let me take a moment and thank my fans affected by our postponed shows for their understanding,” he said, referring to the slew of shows that have now been pushed to 2024.

Last month, it was revealed that Springsteen and The E Street Band would not be playing the remainder of their 2023 scheduled tour stops "out of an abundance of caution" while the singer continues to undergo treatment for his condition.

Those who aren't able to attend the new dates scheduled in 2024 will have 30 days to request a refund, as long as they purchased their tickets through official ticketing companies.

Springsteen himself added in the statement, "Thanks to all my friends and fans for your good wishes, encouragement and support. I'm on the mend and can't wait to see you all next year."
