Ever since Bruce Arians retired, there’s been a growing narrative that something must have been off with his relationship with Tom Brady.

Many seem to believe that Brady had something to do with Arians’ decision to retire. Arians continues to push back on that rumor, though.

Arians, speaking over the weekend at a charity event, revealed that Brady even gave him a $50,000 watch.

“It’s a $50,000 watch,” Arians said, per Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. “He says he’s bringing it to me. Who does that if we hate each other? As soon as he’s back in town, we’ll play golf.”

Arians said no one really knows anything.

“It’s never going to go away, no matter what anyone says,” Arians said. “It’s a national narrative that they think they know, but they don’t.”

Bucs fans are tired of it, too.

“And in true sports media fashion, the interpretation of this gesture won’t be “wow, that’s really nice. I guess they’re not feuding” but instead “hmm, I think Tom’s over-compensating with such a nice gift to try to throw us off!!!” This’ll never end,” one fan predicted.

“I wish the people who don’t like me would send me a watch,” another fan joked.

“Arians is right, it’s not going away. The media speculates way too much and sometimes put misinformation out to be the first to put it out. Look at Deebo situation, they have all kinds of reasons why he wanna leave, nothing concrete, but it doesn’t matter. That’s where we are,” one fan added on Twitter.

Regardless of the truth, Arians is now retired and Todd Bowles is the head coach in Tampa Bay. Hopefully Brady has a good relationship with him.
