The San Joaquin Memorial High boys basketball team will play Sierra Canyon on Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Save Mart Center.

The visiting Trailblazers are led by Bronny James, the son of NBA superstar LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Panthers coach Brad Roznovsky said they’re obviously “excited” to play Sierra Canyon in Fresno.

“They’re a high-level program with pros on their roster,” he said. “It’s not only great for our school, program, but it’s great for the city of Fresno to be able to come and be able to watch a game right in our city with such a tradition that Sierra Canyon has had over the years. Bronny is a future pro, and to be able to see that live in person, I think it’s going to be a great night for our city.”

Other Central Section teams will play in the showcase day of games.

Roznovsky said tickets to the event will be made available in the coming weeks.

An official announcement will also be made next week.

It’s doubtful LeBron James will be in Fresno since the Lakers will be in the midst of a six-game road trip on the East Coast on Dec. 3.

The younger James is weighing college offers from many top programs in the nation.

Also on the Sierra Canyon roster is Bronny’s younger brother, Bryce. Justin Pippen, the son of six-time NBA champion Scottie Pippen of the Chicago Bulls and Ashton Hardaway, the son of NBA player and University of Memphis coach Penny Hardaway, are also on the Sierra Canyon roster.
