Jax Taylor Explains Why He Liked a Post Saying He Should've Married Stassi Schroeder Over Brittany Cartwright

Jax Taylor is responding to his social media behavior that left his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, upset.

Brittany was recently taken aback when she learned that Jax liked a social media comment suggesting he would have been better off marrying his ex, Stassi Schroeder, instead of her.

The revelation came during Tuesday’s episode of Amanda Hirsch's Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. In their conversation, Amanda brought up a surprising topic, asking, "Did you see that he liked a comment somebody left on one of his Instagrams saying, 'You should have married Stassi?'" Brittany's initial reaction was a bemused, "What?"

Further elaborating, Amanda confirmed, "He liked it." With incredulity and amusement, Brittany responded, "He liked it?" Amanda probed if such behavior wasn't strange, to which Brittany concurred, saying, "Very weird. That is so creepy." Her laughter, tinged with a hint of awkwardness or astonishment, underscored the surreal nature of the situation.

Jax has now taken to social media to clarify his Instagram like. The 44-year-old responded to a comment on his page that read, "Please say the rumor about you liking a comment about wishing you had married Stassi isn't true?! You have the most amazing wife I hope you fight to keep her!"

Jax replied, "Yeah i was going through liking comments and i didn’t pay attention and accidentally hit like."

During season 1 of Vanderpump Rules, speculation arose regarding Jax's infidelity to Stassi, particularly during a trip to Las Vegas. Eventually, Jax admitted to the accusations, leading to their breakup. Despite a brief reconciliation in season 2, their relationship ultimately ended.

Jax and Brittany first met in 2015 and endured their share of ups and downs, including a brief split after Jax cheated on Brittany with former SURver Faith Stowers. Despite the challenges, they eventually tied the knot in 2019 and welcomed their first child in 2021.

Brittany announced her separation from Jax in February, and The Valley star responded by picking up the cameras to catch the fallout for the tail end of its freshman season. Amid rumors about the reason for their split, Brittany addressed the situation in an interview with ET, admitting that she hit her "breaking point" with Jax.

"I want to make it very clear that this is not a publicity stunt. I feel like this would be the most disgusting way to publicize your show, so I want to make that very clear, that's not what's going on here," Jax told ET in a separate interview. "People go through tough things in their marriage, we're trying to figure things out a little bit. But it doesn't stop us working together. We're adults."

Then, during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Brittany shared that a "horrible fight" led to the separation, explaining, "It was like a veil was lifted, and I noticed everything wrong."

"It got to the point where we fought about everything, it could be about anything at that point," she said. "It was just a very toxic situation that I felt like I needed to remove myself from."
