The Brewers haven't lost an opening-day game to rain in recent years, but the 2020 and 2022 seasons both featured postponed openers because of the COVID-19 pandemic and work stoppage, respectively. The 2000 season-opening contest in Cincinnati, marking the first game for new manager Davey Lopes, ended in a 3-3 tie when rain stopped the game in the sixth inning; the two teams started fresh the following day.
