Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston responds to Disney+ removing his movie
Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston has responded to Disney+ removing his movie The One and Only Ivan.
It recently emerged that the streaming platform would be taking a number of TV series, specials and movies off its service as part of cost-cutting measures.
Among the casualties is Cranston's 2020 movie, which tells the true story of Ivan the gorilla, and in response the actor shared an Instagram post last week ahead of its removal.

"I heard the news that my film, The One And Only Ivan, is being pulled from @disneyplus as early as next week," he began. "I was very proud of this sweet, family movie that was released after the COVID lockdown began."
The movie is now no longer available, though at the time in his post, Cranston encouraged families to watch the movie: "I urge you to gather your kids, or nieces and nephews, make some popcorn, and watch this engaging and delightful story that was based on real events!
"The real life guy that I play actually adopted a baby gorilla (Ivan) and raised him in a Washington state suburb. A crazy true story!!

"Thanks to Disney for giving us the opportunity to make this movie in the first place. I just know that it will make for really great family time – but you have to do it this weekend before it disappears forever. I promise, you'll be glad you saw it."
Also among the casualties of Disney+'s plans are Willow, Dollface, Y: The Last Man and Marvel's Hero Project, MPower and Voices Rising: The Music of Wakanda Forever, which are now no longer available to watch.
Speaking about their reasons, CFO Christine McCarthy explained: "We are in the process of reviewing the content on our DTC services to align with the strategic changes in our approach to content curation. As a result, we will be removing certain content from our streaming platforms."
