There was some hope that Alvin Kamara would return to the field this Thursday night against the Dallas Cowboys. Unfortunately, that won’t be the case.

Moments ago, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport announced that the New Orleans Saints will not have Kamara for tonight’s game. He’s still recovering from his knee injury.

Kamara was a limited participant in every practice this week, but it appears he needs a bit more time to recover. That means Mark Ingram will be the top option in the backfield against the Cowboys.

Since being traded to the Saints in October, Ingram has 205 rushing yards and a touchdown. He also has 17 receptions for 132 yards.

Not only will the Saints be without Kamara tonight, the offense is also expected to be without their starting offensive tackles. Terron Armstead and Ryan Ramczyk are both dealing with knee injuries.

With Armstead, Kamara and Ramczyk all out for Thursday night’s game, the pressure will be on Taysom Hill to make plays as both a passer and runner.

Hill is dealing with a foot injury, but he told reporters that he’s ready to play. It’s all about him managing the pain while being a functional player for the Saints’ offense.

Kickoff for the Cowboys-Saints game is at 8:20 p.m. ET. The game will air on FOX and NFL Network.
