New Brazilian steakhouse to open in Middletown at the former Crab Du Jour. What to expect

A new Brazilian steakhouse is carving its way into Middletown.

Leblon Steak, a fine dining restaurant centered around an all-you-can-eat rodizio experience, is opening this summer at the former Crab Du Jour property on East Lincoln Highway.

This will be the second location for Leblon Steak, which first opened three years ago in Hillsdale, New Jersey, under restauranteur Wellington Brito, who brings with him more than 20 years of restaurant experience using flavors inspired by his Brazilian upbringing.

“I want to bring my guests to the finest Rio de Janeiro food scene without leaving the country by bringing a piece of Brazil to Middletown,” said Brito, who has brought on Susana Aguero, of New Hope, as co-owner of the Bucks County location.

Currently, they are working to renovate the interior, as they negotiate a liquor license transfer from the previous tenant, Brito said. But with the majority of the work nearing completion, he said they hope to open the restaurant by Aug. 1.

The restaurant will have 220 seats, a 30-foot-long bar and a small private dining room for up to 35 guests. Brazilian artwork and décor will be showcased inside and out, including a large moss mural wall and a marble Christ the Redeemer statue.

“We’ve been looking for locations for about three years and finally found one that was everything that we wanted,” Brito said. “We couldn’t be more excited.”
