Brazilian president Bolsonaro heckled aboard plane, tells critics to ‘take a donkey’

The dislike was plane to see.

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro said hello to passengers on a commercial flight Friday, but was roundly ridiculed from the back of the flight while posing with supporters up front.

The so-called “Tropical Trump” was visiting the coastal state of Espirito Santo and popped into the flight before its departure, Agence France-Presse reported.

Bolsonaro, 66, shared friendly footage from the front of the plane, but video from the back showed not everyone appreciated his visit. In fact, some specifically yelled “Fora Bolsonaro” (Get out, Bolsonaro).

The president responded by telling his admirers, “Those people saying ‘Get out, Bolsonaro’ should be traveling by donkey,” according to AFP.

Some called Bolsonaro a “genocidal maniac,” referring to his lax handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 480,000 Brazilians have died from COVID-19, the second-highest death toll of any country, behind only the U.S.
