Brand-New Pics of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Nigeria Give Huge Insight into Their Marriage
I may not be a body language expert, but as a longtime royals reporter, I’ve spent plenty of time watching the royal family in action, especially Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. And these newly snapped photos of the duke, 39, and duchess, 42, visiting Nigeria (on their first major international tour in years) tell me quite a lot about the royal couple’s marriage: particularly, that they have a fun and playful relationship.
Earlier this morning, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex paid a visit to the Lightway Academy (located in the capital of Abuja) with the GEANCO Foundation, which, according to People, provides “critical health care” and “educational services” to local communities in Nigeria.
One photo (taken by photographer Kola Sulaimon) shows Prince Harry and Markle walking hand-in-hand while arriving at the academy. Just the way they smile at each other shows the close and genuine bond they have.

For the outing, the Suits alum stepped out in a peach-colored maxi dress by Heidi Merrick, Emma Parsons sandals and chic gold earrings, per Harper’s Bazaar. As for the royal spare, he opted for a matching beige shirt and slacks.
At one point, the royal couple watched a dance performance together. Another snapshot shows the Duke and Duchess of Sussex having a candid conversation while watching a person dressed in traditional Nigerian clothing dance in front of them. Their behavior hearkens back to their early days as a couple, as they are so comfortable with each other while smiling from ear to ear.

And I have to call attention to this next cute pic. During their visit, Prince Harry participated in a traditional activity—and Markle was there to cheer her hubby on. This photo shows the smiling duke with Markle gleefully clapping right beside him. The way the pair supports each other and laughs with the other is another clear sign that their marriage remains full of fun and genuine happiness.

The couple also visited a classroom inside the academy, where kindergarteners danced and sang songs for them. In another photo, their connection is on full display as the Sussexes enjoy a casual convo while sitting cross-legged on a rug. As Prince Harry leans over to talk to Markle, she genuinely smiles along with her husband.

Later this week, Prince Harry and Markle will attend a training session for the organization, Nigeria: Unconquered, and will make a special appearance at a reception hosted by the Chief of Defence Staff.
