Guest columnist Lauren Jones was drawn to Oklahoma and obtained a double major in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Oklahoma State University. But when it came time to extend her education, she decided to leave Oklahoma since the state "seemed to downplay women, especially the health issues we face."

Are Oklahoma's politics costing our state the advantage of highly trained workers as some students choose to seek their education here but leave as they start their careers?
