Bradley Cooper and Will Arnett are turning their friendship into a collaboration as the duo are set to team up on a new movie called Is This Thing On?

The movie's plot details are still being kept under wraps at the time of writing but it will be made for Searchlight. Guardians of the Galaxy's Cooper and BoJack Horseman star Arnett will both star in the picture while Cooper is set to also direct the film.

The script was written by Arnett and See How They Run writer Mark Chappell. Deadline reports that Arnett and Chappell turned in the script before the Writers' Guild of America strike commenced, so the project is in ongoing early development.

However, Deadline also reports that Cooper will likely want to redraft the script with both writers. That won't be able to happen until after the strike ends.

Cooper and Arnett are reportedly very close friends off-screen, with Cooper previously explaining that Arnett helped him achieve sobriety.

Cooper fans won't have to wait too long to see Cooper on-screen, however. His next movie Maestro will be released later this year and is expected to be a major awards contender come Oscar season.

Maestro follows the life of legendary composer Leonard Bernstein. Cooper plays Bernstein in a transformative performance while he also produces, directs and co-writes the script (with Josh Singer) in the Netflix movie.

Meanwhile, Arnett will next be seen in a potential awards contender himself — Taika Waititi's Next Goal Wins. That project depicts the infamous American Samoa football team, with Michael Fassbender playing the head coach.
