Bradley Cooper’s Complete Dating History
On screen, actor Bradley Cooper seems to have chemistry with just about everyone, and that appears to be true off-screen as well. The Silver Linings Playbook star has dated some very famous leading ladies and shares one child with supermodel Irina Shayk. He is now rumored to be dating another model, Gigi Hadid.

Jennifer Esposito
Cooper and actress Jennifer Esposito were first linked in January 2006, when they were seen sharing a kiss at a Golden Globes party. In October of that year, they got engaged and were married two months later in the south of France. In May 2007, Esposito filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences,” and it was legally over in November.
“It was just something that happened,” Cooper said during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show in 2011. “The good thing is, we both realized it...Sometimes you just realize it.”
When Stern pushed, he answered, “It just wasn’t right. It’s interesting...things happen!”
In Esposito’s 2014 book Jennifer’s Way, fans leapt on a few paragraphs she wrote about a bad relationship. Though she didn’t mention Cooper or marriage, many assumed she was referring to him when she reflected on the challenges of finding love in Los Angeles.
The man in question had a “mean, cold side,” and a “personality that could flip on a dime.”
She goes on to say, “the relationship was about him and what he needed, and nothing else. I was a non-issue. I became sidelined from my life, my needs, my health. I became very sad and I felt very alone, but I stayed in the relationship.”
Cameron Diaz
In 2007, it was very briefly rumored that Cameron Diaz and Cooper were getting to know one another in New York. They were seen being affectionate over dinner at Morgan’s Hotel and then at a New York Giants game.
A source told Page Six at the time, “[They] were very close and lovely. Something is definitely going on, and it’s clear they are more than just friends.”
Renée Zellweger
Cooper starred with Renée Zellweger in Case 39, which filmed in 2006. They were seen in New York City in June 2009, and rumors of a romance were born. By December, Zellweger was spending the holiday with Cooper and his parents in Los Angeles. They reportedly moved in together early the next year but never publicly acknowledged their relationship.
That didn’t stop Cooper from gushing about her. He told Entertainment Tonight in 2010, “I can’t say enough about her...I just love her. I [loved] coming to work. I love acting with her. I can learn so much from her.”
They supposedly split in March 2011 but have remained friends. There was no clear reason for their breakup, but a source told Us Weekly at the time, “If I had to pick any possible mistress, it would be Brad’s career. He worked really hard to get into leading man status. Renée had to take a backseat.”
They added, ”She’s accomplished a lot of her professional goals, so Renée took some time out to be a great girlfriend and see if this is what it took to make a relationship work.”
Olivia Wilde
In June 2011, Cooper and Olivia Wilde were seen at the Cinema Society afterparty for The Hangover Part II. A source told Us Weekly, “They’re definitely hooking up...Olivia acted jealous when other girls came up to him.”
Wilde had also recently gone through her divorce from her husband of eight years, Tao Ruspoli. Wilde’s rep responded to the report with a simple statement: “Olivia is single and not dating Bradley.”
Jennifer Lopez
Cooper and Jennifer Lopez were seen out at dinner in New York City at Per Se in September 2011 but denied any romance. They were spotted together again in October, driving in Los Angeles, which continued to fuel speculation.
“After their date in New York, Bradley and Jennifer stayed in touch,” a source told People. “She does like his attention, and it makes her feel good that he seems so into her. She has a fun time with Bradley, and he makes her laugh.”
There was no news of a breakup, probably because they were never public, but they appeared to remain friends. In 2019, Lopez wrote in a now deleted post on Instagram that she encouraged Cooper before he performed “Shallow” at the Oscars with Lady Gaga.
“He seemed a little nervous,” she claimed. “I said, ‘The song is so beautiful. When they hear the first few notes, they’re going to start applauding. So don’t worry. Just deliver the song.’ He was like, ‘I got it, I got it, okay.’”
Zoë Saldaña
Cooper and Zoë Saldaña starred in The Words together, and romance rumors sparked immediately because of their chemistry. They were then seen in Los Angeles sharing an intimate dinner in January 2012. Later that month, at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, they were spotted kissing, and in February, Saldaña was seen with Cooper’s mom Gloria. In June, the mom and actress were spotted shopping together.
The relationship was reportedly on-and-off throughout the year, with a source saying their first breakup was initiated by him, claiming, “He dumped her; he just doesn’t want to be in a relationship at the moment.”
They got back together, but at the end of 2012, they spent New Year’s Eve separately. It was truly over, and Saldaña married husband Marco Perego a few months later. The following year in Fashion’s August 2014 issue, she shared a bit about what she felt after her breakup from Cooper.
“I was finally able to spend time without being in a relationship, and even though it was a short period of time, it was beautiful. I lost that fear of being alone,” she said. “It was bliss.”
The former couple went on to star in the MCU’s Guardians of the Galaxy together, though Cooper is in animated form as a talking racoon.
Suki Waterhouse
In February 2013, Cooper was linked to British actress and model Suki Waterhouse. They left the Elle Style Awards together and headed to a nightclub where they were seen with Leonardo DiCaprio. Waterhouse came to Boston in March to visit Cooper as he filmed American Hustle.
Almost a year later, they went red carpet official when Waterhouse attended the SAG Awards as Cooper’s date. He then took her to the White House State Dinner, and he showed support at Waterhouse’s Burberry show. They dated for another year, before splitting up in January 2015. However, they were seen a few times afterwards as friends, even going to the Oscars together and enjoying dinner out.
A source told E! News in May 2015 that the split was an issue of timing. When they started dating, 23-year-old Waterhouse was not in the same place as 40-year-old Cooper.
“They remain friends but they both want different things right now,” the insider said. “Suki isn’t ready...She loves Bradley and he loves her but she’s so young and wants to concentrate on her acting career before becoming a mom.”
In a TikTok from 2022 that she has since deleted, Waterhouse insinuated that there might be more to the story. Wearing the app's “beard” filter to look like a man, Waterhouse captioned the TikTok, “Can’t believe I let someone who looks like me with this filter break my heart.”
She then liked a comment from a fan who wrote, “Bradley Cooper besties.”
Irina Shayk
Cooper began dating Russian supermodel Irina Shayk in 2015, and they were seen that April at a performance of the Broadway musical Finding Neverland. Shayk was then seen in London, where Cooper was starring in The Elephant Man on West End. They kept things fairly private for a while, but in March 2017, they welcomed a daughter, Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper.
“Having a child, and having a family of my own—which is a miracle and something I’ve always dreamt of—has opened me up even more, I guess, to the day, and to be present, Cooper told NPR.
The couple broke up in 2019, but a source told People, “For Lea’s sake, they keep spending time together as a family...Bradley is a great dad. He has always been very involved with his daughter.”
They’ve been seen out and being friendly frequently in the years since, and have even taken family trips together with their daughter.
They seemed to be spending more time together towards the end of 2022, fueling reconciliation rumors. A source told People that Shayk was “very happy” for the extra time.
“She never enjoyed being single,” the source said. “She always hoped they could find a way to make their relationship work again. Even though they always got along and co-parented well, their daughter is the happiest when they are all together. Irina still has her own place in NYC, [but] she spends most of her time at Bradley’s.”
But in 2023, she was supposedly having a fling with NFL star Tom Brady. She did post some beach photos of Cooper in August.
Dianna Agron
In July 2022, Us Weekly claimed that Cooper briefly connected with Glee alum Dianna Agron.
“He was casually dating Dianna when he and Huma [Abedin] started, but it wasn’t serious with Dianna yet,” the insider said.
Huma Abedin
Cooper and Huma Abedin, former aide of Hillary Clinton, were romantically linked after meeting at the Met Gala in May 2022. They were supposedly introduced by Anna Wintour.
“They are dating but it’s not a full-speed-ahead type thing yet,” a source said that July. “It’s still in the earlier stages.”
Another source added, “Bradley is fascinated by her. Huma is very international and has seen and done so much. He finds this intriguing and challenging.”
When the pics of his vacay with Shayk circulated, an insider revealed to Us Weekly, “Bradley and Irina want to keep going on vacations as a family. And Huma respects that.”
It’s not clear when they split or why, but by November 2022, the Daily Mail was referring to Abedin as Cooper’s “ex.”
Gigi Hadid
Model Gigi Hadid and Cooper were seen getting into the same SUV in October 2023 after having dinner at Via Carota in New York City, sparking rumors they might be dating.
A source stated that Hadid has had a “crush” on the actor.
“They are having fun," the insider said. “I don’t see anything serious happening right away, if at all. It appears super casual now, but they both have kids, big careers, busy lives and understand what life is like in these circles. It’s cute...and there is an attraction.”
