The Boys season 4 spoilers follow.

Simon Pegg has revealed how many episodes of The Boys season 4 he is in.

The Mission: Impossible film star will be reprising his role as Hughie Sr in the fourth outing of the series, which is due to hit Amazon Prime Video later this year.

Speaking of his involvement with Collider, Pegg said: "You know how crazy The Boys is? It's gonna get crazier. I had so much fun on that show. It was so great to go back and play Hugh Sr. I love Jack [Quaid].

"It was great to work with Rosemarie DeWitt, who plays Hughie’s mom, who comes back. It's going to be great. You're gonna love it."

Pegg also told the publication how much the character will be appearing in the fourth season.

"I'm in about four episodes and it was a joy to be back," Pegg continued, before concluding: "It's a great crew. They are an amazing bunch of people, and that show is sick as f**k!"

The series follows a group of vigilantes known as The Boys as they confront and expose the corrupt and power-hungry superheroes of Vought International.

In January, Pegg confirmed that he had finished filming the fourth season.

The actor revealed the news on Instagram with a photo of a Vought Studios truck and the caption: "That’s a wrap for me on this season of @theboystv.

"More fun than a Compound V enema. So proud to be part of this incredible show. Will miss everyone. Season 4 is going to be INSANE!!!"

One character we won't be seeing, though, is Nathan Mitchell's Black Noir, whose death at the hands of Homelander in the season three finale was controversial for fans. Mitchell will still be part of season four, playing a new character.

Speaking of his death, Mitchell told Digital Spy: "I did not expect the fans to react like that, and be like, 'Oh, he’s dead. That sucks'.

"It was much more than I was expecting. It was really nice to experience, and nice to see how emotionally connected to Black Noir everyone is, or has been."

While the exact release date for the fourth season has not been officially announced, fans can expect the new season to premiere sometime toward the end of 2023.

The Boys seasons 1-3 are streaming on Prime Video. Season 4 is in production.
