The Bossier Art Council has named its 'Mover and Shaker' for ARTini in a Facebook post.

"Every artist in NWLA knows her name. We are beyond happy to announce that the 2024 Mover and Shaker Award goes to... Pam Atchison!"

"It’s a profoundly humbling honor to be recognized by our sister organization," Shreveport Regional Arts Council Executive Director Pam Atchison said to The Times, adding, "especially while I can still move and shake."

"You cannot think of the arts in this area and not think of Pam Atchison," said Executive Director of the Bossier Arts Council Brittany Pope. "The legacy of her creativity, advocacy, and innovation in the name of the arts, artists, and organizations like BAC, is monumental."

Atchison announced her retirement earlier this year after serving in the position since 1986.

"I can't think of a better person to spotlight right now, especially as she closes this particular chapter of her life," said Marketing Coordinator Alex Richardson. "She's had an inarguable effect on our community as the Executive Director of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council. More than I or many others may ever know."

Atchinson feels that BAC and SRAC forged a partnership long ago to create a path for artists to start their career.

"The Bossier Arts Council and the Shreveport Regional Arts Council have been 'moving and shaking' the arts community for years," she said. "I look forward to toasting Brittainy Pope, executive director, and the board of the Bossier Arts Council at ARTINI on June 8."
