Border Collie Hardcore Ignoring New Puppy Sibling Couldn't Be More Obvious
Adjusting to life changes can take time for dogs, whether they're getting used to a new family member or simply a new schedule. Bigger changes can take time to feel comfortable, too, but most dogs do just fine with a little time and TLC. But that doesn't mean they won't have a little bit of an attitude!
Nala the Border Collie is one smart dog, but even she didn't see it coming when she hopped in the car with Mom and Dad on April 5 just to pick up a new puppy sibling. She thought they were going somewhere fun! Even though the sassy dog flat-out refused to look at her new baby sibling, it was only a matter of days before they were BFFS. Nala changed her mind real quick!
LOL! That's one unhappy dog if I've ever seen one. Not only is Nala crouched as far away from the new puppy as possible, but she won't even look in their direction. What in the world was going through her mind at this moment?

"She was so disappointed in you," said one commenter named Summer. Maybe so! She seems more annoyed than sad at the sight of the dapple-patterned pup, and I can only imagine what an awkward car ride home that must've been. Luckily, everything changed for these two canine siblings when they got home and had a chance to play together!
Aww--how sweet! Nala is trying so hard to play gently with her puppy sibling, which is especially impressive considering that she's a Border Collie. These dogs almost never pass up an opportunity to run, jump, and play, but they're not exactly known for being careful and gentle, either. This big sister is trying her best, and it's paying off beautifully.
Bringing Home a New Puppy
Adopting a new puppy can be so exciting, but it's also a big change for everyone involved. Not only do you need to go shopping and prepare yourself for all kinds of chaos, but you'll need to make a plan for introducing your puppy to your older dog.
It's always recommended to have a meet and greet with the dog you're considering adopting, but it's also smart to meet in a neutral location for a 'pack walk.' Walking while meeting can keep tensions loose and lighthearted, while also giving you an idea how the two dogs act together.
It's normal if it takes a few days--or even a few weeks--before things start feeling normal. Before you know it, your puppy and older dog will be the best of friends, just like Nala and her new sibling!
