The deadly gunfire was preceded by an altercation between Sigman and another man at Leopoldo’s, a popular pizzeria in the area. Police said security asked Sigman to leave the restaurant after another patron claimed the ex-educator threatened to shoot him.

“Sigman then left walking toward the parking deck,” according to the press release. “The investigation then indicates Sigman walked into the parking deck and began shooting into a parked vehicle.”

The gunfire stuck Jones, who was immediately transported to the hospital by her friends. She was pronounced dead a short time later.
