Boise police ‘made contact’ with 9-year-old girl; investigation ongoing

The Boise Police Department “made contact” with a 9-year-old girl who was previously reported as missing by her family early Monday.

Boise police spokesperson Haley Williams told the Idaho Statesman by email Bridgette was with a family member that she was familiar with, but “her family here in Boise” wasn’t aware Bridgette was with the person. Williams declined to comment on where Bridgette was located.

“Police are still investigating to determine what, if any, follow-up needs to be done,” Williams said by email.

“Thank you to everyone who helped share this message,” the tweet said.

Williams said that any time a child is reported missing, Boise police conduct a “thorough investigation” usually with detectives from the Boise Police Department’s Special Victims Unit and school resource officers. She said patrol officers will search the area where the child was reported missing.

Bridgette was last seen around 11 p.m. Sunday at her home in the area of Shoshone and Kathryn streets.
