It’s official, Bohemian Rhapsody is leaving Netflix in the UK this month.

The 2018 musical biopic, which follows the rise to fame of Freddie Mercury and the legendary British Rock band Queen, is available to stream on the platform until Thursday, June 15.

The Academy Award-winning movie that stars Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury, plus Lucy Boynton, Ben Hardy and Tom Hollander, will still be available to stream for free on Disney+ for subscribers, and for a fee on services such as Prime Video and Apple TV+.

Like many streamers, Netflix often rotates its ever-expanding list of titles, and TV shows or movies can be removed for a number of reasons. In its Help Centre, it states: "Though we strive to keep the titles you want to watch, some titles do leave Netflix because of licensing agreements."

It shows "last day to watch on Netflix" messaging on a title's Details page, and "at the top of the screen for a few seconds when the title starts playing".

Elsewhere, Disney+ recently announced that it would remove some of its own titles from its platform.

Willow, Cheaper by the Dozen and Y: The Last Man have all been removed from the platform alongside some Marvel shows such as Hero Project and Voices Rising: The Music of Wakanda Forever, as a means to cut costs.

Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston responded to the news that his 2020 movie, The One and Only Ivan, was being removed from the platform.

He tweeted at the time: "I heard the news that my film, The One And Only Ivan, is being pulled from @disneyplus as early as next week.

"I was very proud of this sweet, family movie that was released after the COVID lockdown began."
