Body found in Fox River in Appleton Friday, Outagamie County Sheriff's Office says

A body was pulled from the Fox River near Peabody Park in Appleton Friday afternoon, the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office confirmed Saturday.

A kayaker called law enforcement just before 3 p.m. Friday to report a body floating on the north side of the river, Sheriff's Lt. Wang Lee told the Post-Crescent Saturday.

The Appleton Fire Department confirmed a body was recovered from the river. The body was recovered by the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office.

Lee did not have information about the age or gender of the person whose body was recovered.
