Body found at construction site for a Central Kentucky high school. Police investigating

A body was found at a construction site for the new Scott County High School, according to WKYT, the Herald-Leader’s reporting partner.

Scott County Coroner Mark Sutton confirmed the body was found at a construction site near the current high school but didn’t confirm any further details.

WKYT, the Herald-Leader’s news-reporting partner, reported the victim was a woman and she had at least one gunshot wound.

The body was found by construction workers at approximately 6:30 a.m., according to WKYT. The woman did not work at the construction site and does not have any known connections to the site, WKYT reported.

Police were still investigating the scene later Monday morning.

The Georgetown Police Department didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
