Bobby Lytes Sheds Light on Omarosa's Mysterious Tambourine Injury

Bobby Lytes

In perhaps the most shocking move on House of Villains yet, Love & Hip Hop: Miami's Bobby Lytes elected to nominate himself for the Hit Last last week rather than one of his competitors. The move, meant to give him more power in the game, however, quickly backfired when he lost the Redemption Challenge to Johnny Bananas and remained eligible for elimination. Sure enough, at the end of this night's episode, Bobby's worst nightmares came true as Tanisha Thomas and Jonny Fairplay backstabbed him, sending him home.

Parade sat down with Bobby post-elimination to discuss why he decided to put himself in danger, how he put together his incredible outfits this season and just what is going on with Omarosa's hand injury.

As you reminded everyone in this episode, you brought the fashion to House of Villains. How did you pull your looks together for the season and how did you decide on the iconic purple hair?

Honestly, it's just Balenciaga. I just bought all my favorite pieces, and I really didn't plan any outfits. I knew we were going to be gone for so long filming that I brought like 30 pairs of pants, 30 tops, but I was like, "Okay, I'm not wearing any color. I'm just going to wear all black." I wanted to wear all black the entire season. That's funny you asked about the hair because when I got into the house, and I seen the house was purple, and I seen the theme was going to be purple, I was like, "Okay!" I'm clairvoyant. I'm super psychic. It just felt right. The color purple represented a villainous era for me.

So you picked the purple hair before you knew that the show's theme would be purple.

Oh yeah, and the producers can tell you that because they heard me say that before they even got into production. I thought that was pretty ironic, my damn self.

Aside from you, who on the cast had good fashion and who had bad fashion?

I think Tanisha [Thomas] had good fashion. She had really cute outfits. New York had some really cute outfits. Corinne had really cute looks. Like you gotta get into her looks. Corinne [Olympios] was giving very, like, SoCal. I love Corinne. Then who had horrible fashion was Shake [Chatterjee] and [Jonny] Fairplay. Yeah, their looks were not great.

We have to talk about you putting yourself on the Hit List. Why did you ultimately come to that decision knowing that it was risky and could eliminate you? Was it to beat Shake and Johnny Bananas or was it to protect the girls? What was going through your mind?

Yeah, it was it was to protect the girls. It was also to take out the boys. First of all, I honestly felt like I could take them out. But once I started thinking things through, I was feeling a little shook, but I knew it was too late. I made my decision and from there, I was like, "You know what? Win or lose, I'm going to blow this competition up."

I think a lot of people's end-all-be-all was the $200,000. For me, it wasn't, it was more so proving my point that I'm the biggest villain in the house. That was the point of the show ultimately. Of course, $200,000 is great. But after that money is spent, are people going to remember your $200,000? They're going to remember you for you being the biggest villain that there was in the house. I was like, "If I go home...if I do, I do; if I don't, I don't." The point is, I gotta make a move that's gonna prove not only to the house, but to the rest of the world watching that he does deserve to be in this House of Villains. I was like, nobody's being a real villain in this f--king house. Somebody put yourself up for elimination. So it was just my idea, something crazy. I wanted to do it but yeah, it cost me the long ride, but I think it was pretty entertaining. I think people gagged, I think I gagged the people.

Were you surprised Tanisha and Fairplay flipped on you or did you know that was coming?

I was not shocked at all about Fairplay. I'm a realistic person. I take accountability and I'm just a realistic person. There's no way he wasn't gonna put me up for elimination after I crossed him and broke a promise. I expected Tanisha to have my back simply because I kept her off the hit list. I always made it clear that I was going to get rid of the guys first and then we can hash it out from there. I think that Shake and Bananas were able to get in her brain a little more than I could.

You were in the house during the whole situation with Omarosa Manigault Newman's hand situation. She claims you agreed that Tanisha hit her. Do you have any additional insights to what we saw on the show?

According to Omarosa, she was hit on her hand by a tambourine. I didn't see it. Even when they played back the footage, I still didn't see it. I don't know, from certain angles, it kind of looked like it may have, I don't know. The point is I do not think she was injured at all. I think that may have been a tactic she was trying to use to get rid of Tanisha without her having to be voted out. She wanted Tanisha to be disqualified. I just know all of us went through hell with production. Production was delayed. We had to wait for her to come back from the doctor. Her lawyer got involved. It was like a thing. Love Omarosa down, but it didn't happen, sorry.

What was your favorite moment on the show?

The first day when we got to see who was gonna be in the house. It was just a dope moment for me to be surprised, because no one could ever surprise me. I'm always figuring things out. No one can, like, throw any surprise parties on me. No one can keep secrets. I always figure things out. So for me to actually not know who was gonna be in the house and then seeing everyone come in one-by-one was a dope moment.

Who gagged you the most when they showed up?

New York. It gagged me because I'm a fan of New York. I grew up watching New York. I would have been gagged with Omarosa except I kind of felt, How is this really gonna be House of Villains if Omarosa's not in the house? So I kind of assumed and knew she would be in the house. Tanisha gagged me too, because I just wasn't expecting anybody from Bad Girls Club to be there.
