On Wednesday morning, the football world learned that former Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops is back in the head coaching ranks.

Stoops was officially named as a head coach of the XFL – for the second time. He joins Wade Phillips, Hines Ward, Terrell Buckley, Jim Haslett, Rod Woodson, Reggie Barlow and Anthony Becht as the head coaches for the 2023 season.

Stoops previously coached the Dallas Renegades for five games in 2020. He racked up a 2-3 record before the season was stopped due to COVID-19.

It didn’t take long for fans to start reacting to the latest XFL news. They’re thrilled to welcome Stoops back to the league.

“Stoops is back! Time to announce Dallas as a city,” one fan said.

“Never in doubt. Welcome back Bob!” said another fan.

“Bob Stoops back in the XFL,” said another fan.

League co-owner Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is ready for the 2023 season to kick off.

“This is yet another huge moment for the XFL. I have experienced first-hand the positive influence and impact that coaches can have on a player’s life, and with our group of smart, accomplished and motivating head coaches, I expect nothing less. Not only will these coaches be mentors to our players, but they will be a big part of the cities in which we will operate. Stay tuned,” said Dwayne Johnson.

How will Stoops do in his second stint with the XFL?
