Monday, April 15

Baseball

EDGEWOOD 2, COLUMBUS EAST 1: The Mustangs (3-3) were out-hit 7-4 but scored the winning run in the sixth off a Carter Hayden sac fly that brought Isaac Lawson home. Carson Druckrey went five innings, with reliever Nolan Hudson picking up the win.

EASTERN GREENE 4, SHOALS 3 (10 inn.): Jonas Hawk was 3-for-5 including the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the 10th for the T-Birds (6-1), scoring Ty McKnight. Will Inman was 2-for-4 with a double and went six innings, striking out seven. Kasen Cullison went three innings, entering with the bases loaded and no one out but not giving up a run. Softball

CENTER GROVE 10, BLOOMINGTON SOUTH 0 (5 inn.): The Panthers (4-4) were held to two hits, singles by Carly Reed and Brooke Koontz. The Trojans (7-4), ranked seventh in Class 4A, had 11 hits and ended it early by scoring in each inning but the third. Morgan Cockerill took the loss, going 3 1/3 innings. Complete box at MaxPreps.

EASTERN GREENE 14, SHOALS 1 (5 inn.): The T-Birds (2-5) scored 11 runs in the first two innings and cruised, powered by eight hits and 13 walks. Bianca Wyatt and Taylor Konermann each drove in three runs while Jessica Hovious tossed a two-hitter and drove in two runs. Complete box at MaxPreps.

Girls tennis

INDIAN CREEK 5, EDGEWOOD 0: The Mustangs (3-1, 2-1) dropped the WIC match with a pair of third set losses at 2 singles and 2 doubles. Complete results at Edgewood Athletics. Edgewood is at Bloomington North for a makeup match on Tuesday.

Boys golf

VINCENNES RIVET 172, EASTERN GREENE 178, NORTH DAVIESS 180, EVANSVILLE CHRISTIAN 196: Roman Valentine and Logan Russell each shoot 40s to lead the T-Birds at High Pointe.
