Blink 182 Welcomes CT Puppy Rescue Backstage for an Adorable Pre-Show Cuddle Party
The people who volunteer for dog rescues dedicate their time and their hearts. They tirelessly work to find families for countless animals, only to bid farewell to each one they cherished. It’s fair to say it’s not a job everyone can do.
However, we can all do our part to help them find their way home. While online campaigns and adoption events can connect these animals with the perfect parents, the music world is also helping to unite everyone.

Dog lovers have even more reason to go to see their favorite bands: dogs! New England Puppy Rescue (@newenglandpuppyrescue), in Connecticut, recently took their puppies backstage at the request of bands Blink 182 and Pierce the Veil. It wasn’t just these tiny babies who had a terrific time getting VIP treatment. Band members weary from the road also received a hefty dose of puppy love. These adorable puppies benefit from early socialization, and having musicians and concertgoers share their photos increases their chances of finding a home. With the problems of overpopulation, it’s a sensational way to spread the word about adopting instead of shopping.

I asked Marissa Squires from New England Puppy Rescue to describe what made this opportunity so special, and she revealed, “Our primary goal was to spread our mission and provide some decompression time for the artists. These individuals are in front of cameras almost every day, and we wanted to offer them a moment of peace. Our puppies loved it and brought so much joy to the crew and band members, missing their dogs while on the road.” That’s something anyone who travels regularly can understand. And yes, these puppies met Kourtney Kardashian too!
If you missed this event, Marissa reports, “We will be partnering with Live Nation (@livenation) for the rest of the year and already have more artist requests coming in. It has been an incredible honor to be the chosen rescue, and we couldn’t be prouder to be part of this initiative.” It’s an honor this rescue has earned.
Ways To Help Rescue Dogs
Regardless of where you live, rescues seek volunteers willing to dedicate their time and hearts to dogs in need. If you can’t foster long-term, many shelters allow people they have vetted to take dogs home for the day to give them a break and hope. Lifting their spirits can sometimes be just what they need for a potential adopter to see what they have to offer. New England Puppy Rescue hosts many great events you can also participate in, such as “Puppy Yoga, Puppy Happy Hour, Puppy-Grams, and Puppy Fixes, where we bring some of our adoptable puppies to various locations to spread puppy love and promote our rescue mission.” I need to find one next time I’m in CT and away from my dogs!
Animal enthusiasts were thrilled to hear about this exciting collaboration. Viewer @kaay_lahhh responded, “How stinkin’ cool is this!? What a moment, what a day for all!” No doubt! Viewer @r__musa remarked, “The coolest thing to ever happen!” Another viewer pointed out, “Every time a rescue dog gets exposure, it increases their chance of adoption. I hope these adorable pups find their forever homes soon.” They have a dedicated team working to ensure it. If you’ve been thinking about getting a puppy, this hard-working rescue will receive 15 new babies from the Bissell Pets Coalition later this week.
If your perfect night out sounds like listening to great music and petting puppies, there will be plenty of opportunities to do it. Even if you can’t adopt yourself, sharing your experience and these events can help these dogs connect with their soulmates.
