As restaurants begin to roll out menu items inspired by fall flavors, McDonald's is switching things up a bit with a new addition to the McCafé menu. On September 14, diners at participating restaurants will be able to order the Cheese Danish.

Buttery and sweet, the Cheese Danish is "made with a sweet cream cheese filling and topped with a light vanilla drizzle over butter streusel," according to a description on the McDonald's website.

Whether you're in the mood for a quick breakfast or a treat during the day, the Cheese Danish is a great option when you're on the go. The snack also pairs well with a variety of McCafé drinks, like coffee and the French Vanilla Cappuccino.

If the announcement of the Cheese Danish to the McCafé menu has your nostalgia kicking in, it's for good reason. The original Cheese Danish was first introduced to the McDonald’s menu in the '80s. The newest version of the pastry is an updated take on the original.

In addition to the Cheese Danish, the McCafé menu is filled with other tantalizing bites, including the Apple Fritter, Blueberry Muffin, and Cinnamon Roll with Cream Cheese Icing.

Like all of our fall faves, the Cheese Danish will only be available for a limited time, so don't wait too long!
