Black Diamond, Blue Clove or Snoopy's? See who won Best Seafood in Bracket Showdown
On Monday, the Caller-Times asked readers to vote to decide the best seafood restaurant in Corpus Christi.
The community voted, and the top 24 went to a top 12, then to a top 6 and then to a top 3.
After a collective 367 votes from Monday through Thursday, The Blue Clove Seafood Bar & Grill took home the crown as Best Seafood Restaurant as voted by the people. It is located at 5884 Everhart Road.
The Blue Clove received 50 votes (50%), Black Diamond Oyster Bar received 31 votes (31%) and Snoopy's Restaurant received 20 votes (20%).
Owners Antonio Posada and Antonio "Tony" Posada Jr., said they are grateful to win the title of Best Seafood Restaurant in Corpus Christi.
"It feels amazing to know people are still supporting us," Tony Posada said. "It keeps us going forward and happy knowing what we've been doing is appreciated."
The father-son duo started The Blue Clove originally on Horne Road back in March 2016. After learning of a vacancy in The Market on Everhart plaza, the Posadas jumped on the opportunity for a larger space, which included a bar and a banquet room.
The two can be found in the kitchen 100% of the time everyday, the two said.
"We have a lot of variety," Tony Posada said. "It's not just fried food. We do it baked, grilled, blackened and pecan-crusted. We're not just seafood also; we also have chicken and Italian food."
Antonio Posada said they also offer plenty of chef specials.
"If customers show up and ask for something new, we can prepare it," Antonio Posada said. "If they have something on their mind to eat, we will gladly fix it for them."
Tony Posada said they enjoy preparing something "on the fly" for customers.
"You can't do that a lot at other restaurants — ask the chef to prepare something new," Tony Posada said.
As for future plans with The Blue Clove, the Posadas said they are comfortable not expanding for the moment.
"It's crazy to see other people open multiple locations," Tony Posada said. "I feel like the more locations you open, the less you'll be able to be at them and satisfaction of the business will suffer. We'd rather just be here and make it perfect."
The Blue Clove is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch and 5 to 10 p.m. for dinner Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
