'BiP's Brandon And Serene Share A *Big* Update At The Reunion

Every season of Bachelor in Paradise has a couple that just makes sense. They get together, look really happy and in love, and actually seem like they could go the distance (i.e. make it work outside of Paradise). On season 8, that couple was most definitely Brandon Jones and Serene Russell.
Brandon, a 28-year-old traveling nurse recruiter, and Serene, a 27-year-old elementary school teacher, were strong from the beginning, making it clear to everyone on the beach that they were the real deal.
Of course, Paradise is a total bubble and most of the couples don’t actually make it work once they hit the real world. With the finale and two-part reunion starting tonight, everyone has a lot of questions about what has been going on with everyone since the cameras stopped rolling and everyone left Paradise.
Perhaps most importantly, people want to know if Serene and Brandon still together. Have they joined the list of BiP couples who've made it work IRL? Here’s what you need to know.
What happened during this season of 'Bachelor in Paradise'?
A quick recap is in order: Brandon and Serene got together early on during season 8 (like from day 1) and their relationship stayed pretty steady. Their first "I love yous" happened pretty fast, and it felt like they just spent the rest of the season napping together all day.
TLDR, Brandon and Serene were a match made in heaven, and continued to choose each other at the Rose Ceremonies. While producers split them up (along with all the other couples) for a week during filming, Brandon and Serene came back together afterward, and it was clear they were going to make things work.

Yep, only two couples get engaged at the end of BiP—Johnny DePhillipo and Victoria Fuller (who, *SPOILER* have since broken up), and Brandon and Serene, according to reports from Reality Steve.
No, they didn’t actually get married on the show.
Perhaps as a result of these two seeming so steady and confident in their relationship the whole time, producers decide to throw them a curveball at Brandon and Serene during the finale. Host Jesse Palmer comes up to them after their engagement to announce that he’s been ordained and that he can actually marry them on the spot, per Reality Steve.
“BIP ends with a cliffhanger whether they got married or not,” Steve explains on Twitter. So...Did they? Nope. “At reunion they come out and say they didn’t, just still engaged," Steve says.
The audience will probably get more intel about their ongoing engagement during the reunion, and I, for one, can't wait to hear more.
So, are they still together?
So far, so good. These two are probably starting to plan their wedding together, if I had to guess. And they're both quite protective of their relationship, and seem very loyal to each other.
Serene actually unfollowed former Bachelorette Michelle Young (who rejected Brandon in the Bachelorette finale) after she suggested on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast that Brandon and Serene were definitely talking before BiP.
Brandon and Serene haven’t been able to say anything about their engagement on social media (contractual obligations, I imagine), but he sweetly posted photos of the two of them cuddling on the show in early November, writing, “Actions speak louder than words 🌹.”
Serene also pinned this photo of herself and Brandon to the top of her Instagram, which reads, “You make me feel deserving of all the things that I want.”
You just know that if there was a messy breakup in there, she probably would not have done that.
